Title: SAS Consultant
Duration: 3 to 6 months
Location: Birmingham
Role requirements:
A SAS Consultant, with up to between 5 and 8 years' experience in developing SAS solutions.
Required skills and Experience:
- Highly Proficient in Base SAS, SAS Macros PROC SQL, SAS DI Studio and SAS Enterprise Guide
- Experienced in general SQL use
- Exposure to underlying databases eg Oracle or Microsoft
- Design of ETL and reporting solutions
- Ability to create end to end solutions, and lead on implementation.
- Understands data integration and management principles
- Able to translate complex Business requirements into technical design
- Able to manage your own time, delivering as per project/technical lead requirements.
- Provide guidance/coach graduate consultants.
- Good understanding of version control methodologies
- Understanding of the development life cycle
- Advising the project manager on expected timelines for project delivery
- Unix Scripting
- Understanding of Relational Database principals
- Experience of how to optimise SAS processes, especially with more experienced consultants.
- Having worked with large volumes of data.
- Strong Excel skills, including VBA knowledge
- Ability to assimilate business requirements
- Understanding of business process improvements
- Ability to represent processes as process flow or swim lane diagrams
- Definition of testing scenarios
- Testing skills
Desirable Skills Experience and Knowledge
We are looking for experienced SAS developers who have had exposure to working in the insurance industry and are particularly interested in any candidates who have experience of working with assets and investment data.
