UX Designer | 12 Month Contract | London | £500pd (Outside of IR35)People Source Consulting are currently seeking an experienced UX Developer to take on a 12 month contract with a London based Central Government Department.
As part of the ongoing Government Digital Transformation, my client are looking for a UX Developer to assist them in the improvement existing and development new features within their frontend platform.
Personal attributes required:
*Comfortable and capable working using an agile approach including developing user stories from prioritised backlogs, sprints, daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives.
*Comfortable talking to non-technical staff and translating their requirements into technical terms
*Be a good listener.
*Where appropriate be innovative and propose changes to processes.
*Strong communicator, comfortable going unaccompanied to meet technical and non-technical staff.
Essential skills and experience:
*Demonstrable experience of Agile development working within a CI environment that includes: GIT, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React Framework, JSON, RedisStore, and use of Express WebServer (RESTful API).
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*5+ years' experience as a practicing designer.
*5+ years' experience designing and building digital products.
*5+ years working with multi-disciplinary agile team to deliver transactional software based on user requirements.
*In-depth understanding of user centred design principles and tools.
*Experience of visual design, interaction design and content design.
*Supporting user researcher and business analyst to illustrate and bring to life the workflow through wireframes.
Ideal candidates will also have:
*Familiar with the following technologies: Scala, Spray Framework and Akka Engine
*Experience of developing document upload functions
*Experience of developing an existing digital service
*Experience of incorporating a service into Government as a Platform
As this is working within Central Government, valid SC Clearance held by the home office is preferable. If you do not have Current SC Clearance you must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance to be considered.
In return my client are offering:
*Up to £500pd (Outside of IR35)
*12 month contract with potential for extension
*Central London location
*Potential for remote working when suitable.
