Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer/Technical Architect in the area of web development to work with the Data Infrastructure team to deliver pan-government solutions to the public sector. This is a hands-on role requiring the candidate to devise the solutions and implement/develop those solutions- a strong technical knowledge is essential.
Candidates need to have a strong background in a software development with full stack exposure, and possess the skill to technically architect solutions at all levels.
Database design and Datamodelling (MySQL, Postgres and noSQL)
Programming - API's, MVC in Python (Django or equivalent advantageous)
Web Technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, JSON, XML)
UI/UX
Business Analysis
The successful candidate will have proven experience in supporting the design of solution architectures, and be expected to develop and deploy web applications. They must also be able to independently handle open source database like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable proof of being the main Developer/Architect on multiple projects
- Proven ability to produce high quality architectural and design documentation
- Work with Business to devise a solution and come up with detailed requirements documents.
- Take responsibility for the architecture and design of IT. Solutions on a project
- Have designed solutions and then participated as the Project Architect in the delivery of technical solutions, and be able to reference successful implementations
- Have developed/deployed web applications, and be able to reference successful implementations
Skills:
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), micro services and API's
- Solid experience of building software products from scratch
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience in the web domain and web technologies
- Strong Linux Skills
- Strong Python Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
