Windows Technical Architect - Contract - IR35 - Scotland
Square One are looking for a Windows Technical Architect to come on board for an initial 6 month contract in various location throughout Scotland.
This is an initial 6 month contract, paying market rates.
This role is within IR35
Essential skills and experience:
Proven track record (minimum 5 years) of working in digital transformation of public and/or private sector organisation
Experience leading technical teams and delivering user-focused services
Strong software development and application architecture experience, with good knowledge of open source technologies, testing and at least one programming language
Experience of scaling online services
Awareness of emerging security issues
Ability to read and understand solution design documentation
Understanding of agile environments., continual delivery techniques and dev-ops cultures
Understanding of how to influence senior management and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
Eagerness to influence how digital services are delivered within SEPA and across government
Experience of designing and implementing secure systems
Experience of mentoring technical staff and managing stakeholders
Understanding of government best practices, standards and policies
Experience of cloud technologies, enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools
Awareness of how to budget in an on-demand environment and an understanding of legal implications
View technology as an enabler of great digital services
Technology Requirements:
Wintel environment running Windows 2012 R2 Server Side and Windows7 and MS Office 2010 tools on desktop
Server Estate (some 250+) is fully virtualised using VMWare/Citrix
Desktop VDI provisioned to 1300 staff across 25 locations using Citrix
Mobile devices include laptops/iPad
Longstanding Oracle house currently on 11G
Historically SQL/Forms/Apex main development tools
Significant Web presence hosted by Pulsant
Website built on .Net/Umbraco CMS
This is an initial 6 month contract, paying market rates.
