Description
Senior Java Engineer/Tech Lead required for a 6 month contract position on a major Greenfield project with a leading online gaming client in New York. (remote working considered for exceptional candidates).
You will joining a team of the very best server engineers that design and build the heart of a gaming and product platform. The right candidate will be helping the client adopt the latest in the Server Side and Big Data technology, such as high scalable cloud based infrastructure, stream analysis and machine learning. The person will be a key contributor to aspects of design and delivery of all Server Systems, Services and Data Stores.
To be suitable for this position you must have a strong engineering skills plus a background and deep expertise in with Java Server Side development, Real Time SOA and micro services architecture (8 years+) any further experience with Real Time analytics is a big plus.
* 5+ years of architecture and delivery of high volume highly available Back End infrastructures - Telcos/Trading/AdTech systems, etc. Excellent understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, UML.
* Expertise with REST API Concepts and Dropwizard/Jersey Framework, low-level networking (TCP stack) and Netty Framework
* Gaming or Equity trading Server Side experience is a big plus
* Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering systems at large scale using Kafka and Hazelcast
* In depth understanding of the Distributed System Concepts: Leadership, Consensus, In-Sync Replicas, Partitioning
* 10+ years of hands on Java development, strong familiarity with C/C++
* Strong understanding of key security concepts and patterns
* Excellent understanding of enterprise and mobile facing systems architecture
* Experience driving adoption of next generation client technology is a huge plus
Data Management
* Experience with SQL and No-SQL DBs, specifically with Cassandra and MySQL
* Experience with Stream Analysis and ML. Experience with Google Big Data Tools is a plus
Systems Operational maturity
* Proven track record building operationally well instrumented, very highly scalable, highly available, secure systems
* Experience with Build Automation Tools: Gradle, Jenkins, Nexus, Docker Image Repositories
* Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, DataDog, Stackdriver
You will ideally be working in New York, Monday - Friday but there is an option for remote working for exceptional candidates.
This is a huge stream of work for an exciting company and being Greenfield will enable you to work with some of the latest technologies.
Hourly rates are negotiable dependent on experience.
