A new 3 month contract opportunity is currently on offer for a Senior Software Developer to join our Queensland State Government Organisation based in Brisbane CBD.
The Senior Software Developer will be required to work closely in a small team made up of Software Developers, Web/UI Specialists, Infrastructure Specialists and Business Intelligence Specialists.
The Senior Software Developer will help establish a software development practice that leverages ideas from DevOps, Agile, Continuous Integration and Microservices.
The Key Responsibilities the Senior Software Developer will be required to undertake will be as follows;
- Design, Code, Test, Deploy and Support software solutions that meet our business goals.
- Use software and software development tools to assist in the provision of high quality IT Network services.
- Assist in the establishment of, and participate in governance processes including code review, QA, as well as the supporting toolchains.
- Provide Tier 3 application support for our network support systems and actively participate in the identification and resolution of issues.
- Provide training and advice to internal and external stakeholders.
To be carefully considered for this role, we are seeking to engage a Candidate demonstrating the following key technical competencies;
- Version Control Systems (currently GitHub).
- Container orchestrators (Kubernetes planned).
- CI, CD, Automation and Configuration Management tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
- Other programming languages such as Ruby, C, Go, .Net.
- Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, as well as DevOps principles.
- Broad IT Infrastructure knowledge, especially TCP/IP, routing and switching, but including virtualisation, storage, security, and public and private cloud.
Highly Desirable technology expertise:
- Python
- Microservice and Service Orientated Architectures
- Open Source database systems
