My client is looking for a Solution Infrastructure Architect Medior who will be working in Core Operations for the Network Operations department.

The majority of projects within Network Op's are 'business as usual' ie NW upgrades and support projects. The exception to this being OSS Tooling - SIAC (this is the project they require this resource for) - this is for the clients Roadmap project and is the upgrade of the Operational Support Systems and Tools used by the clients NOC's.

The role:

  • Define, design and document IT business solutions, delivering Business Solution Architecture (BSA) document, corresponding UML artefacts (ie Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Use Cases) and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) in support of documenting the program/project scoped IT business solution.
  • Responsible for defining and documenting IT business solutions that meets program/project scope business requirements and that are aligned with published enterprise architecture.
  • Ensure that the solution architecture is compliant and aligned to the published Enterprise Architecture blueprints and product, technology and infrastructure roadmaps. Direct a design change control to ensure that all changes are considered in relation to the end-to-end design baseline. Ensure that the solution is aligned to defined scope but also positioned for future requirements.
  • Review and approve design artefacts for the IT business solution (ie Functional Designs, Technical Designs, Interface Specifications, Data Mappings etc.), liaising with cross functional teams to achieve high quality designs.
  • Co-operate with the Enterprise Architects on definition of the E2E architecture to assure the integrity, robustness and efficiency of the future E2E solutions. Identify opportunities to increase reusability and maximize cost synergies.
  • Deliver IT impact assessments containing solution impact overview presentation and cost and effort impact, focusing on solutions that bring clear business value.
  • Define, create, communicate and maintain taxonomies, repositories, workflows, and IT governance processes that reflect industry best practices.

Required skills and knowledge

Experience in large scale enterprise architecture, ideally in a telecom. setting; analytics; communication, presentation & facilitation skills; stakeholder, vendor, and relationship mgmt.; ability to understand and analyze business needs and bridge the gap between business and IT; project mgmt. - Experience with Resolve automation

  • Good understanding of system interfaces like SOAP, REST, Database connections, SSH, TELNET
  • Experience with test tools like but not limited to: SOAPUI, Postman, MySQL Workbench, SQL Developer
  • JAVA programming skills
  • Systems integration experience
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows Server
