Description
Our client, a Government Department in Canberra is seeking the services of a Spatial Specialist.
Primary duties will be assessing and checking file spatial data, transforming spatial data formats and projections and creating spatial geo databases and mosaics for web publishing using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 and ESRI ArcGIS Server.
Extensive demonstrated knowledge of ESRI raster and vector spatial data and metadata formats, data models, high-volume spatial data processing and quality control of spatial data is essential.
Expertise in using Python and ArcGIS Model Builder to manage spatial data conversion would be useful to automate long-running tasks.
The contractual role would be for between 20 and 37.5 hours per week, dependent on negotiations with the successful officer.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
- ESRI Arc GIS suite (ArcGIS 10 and above) (Mandatory)
- Extensive experience in use of ArcGIS tools to transform spatial raster and vector data (Mandatory)
- Use of ESRI Enterprise Spatial Database (SDE)
- ArcGIS imagery mosaics and file geodatabase management
- ISO19115 spatial metadata production and management
- Python and ArcPy
