Description

Morson International have an active requirement for an experienced Oracle Developer to work on an initial 3 month contract on client site in Qatar. Accommodation and Flights will be covered as part of this contract.

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and configure software based on traditional RDBMS and/or Big Data approaches to deliver data driven projects and solutions. The engineer understands how data is used, manipulated and processed and combines these skills to create innovative solutions to business problems.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of PL/SQL, Oracle, and database administration experience
  • Unix/Linux O/S including python, bash and Shell Scripting
  • Oracle PL/SQL database development
  • Cisco networking, must include TCP/IP protocol, and communication protocols such as RTP, SIP, POP3, IMAP and HTTP
  • Performance tuning/query optimisation
  • Data design/architecture/analysis to ETSI (optional)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans or implements migration of data or operations between database products, versions or environments
  • Designs and documents, or validates, the data access mechanisms to guarantee that transactions are processed reliably and data is efficiently stored and retrieved
  • Delivers code and configured Middleware, as well as supporting artefacts, which fulfil supplied requirements
  • Works from high level designs and/or requirements to create low level design artefacts which can be delivered by relevant team members
  • Exploits appropriate methods, languages, libraries, tools, and techniques and applies these to engineering tasks to realise the most effective outcome
  • Ensures that all artefacts are produced to defined standards where standards exist, and to withstand professional scrutiny in any case
  • Works as a member of a development team, collaborating with other team members, and participates in technical discussions and conversations with customers
  • Produces or validates the schedule and effort estimate for each task they perform
  • Demonstrates skill and adeptness in team collaboration, technical discussion and negotiation
  • Ensures that high quality and delivery standards are met and consistently delivers quality code on time and within estimate.
