Computer Vision Engineer/Scientist
  • Location : Shaftesbury, Dorset
  • Salary : £55,000 - £65,000 DOE + Benefits (25 days holiday, Pension/Life Assurance)
  • Official Title : Computer Vision Scientist


My client is seeking an expert in real-time computer vision systems to grow its existing research team tasked in developing future systems within its market leading business.

This business is creating behaviour analytics using machine learning, scoring for various industry sectors and looking to build on an existing platform of talented and highly motivated candidates to create the next generation of algorithms.

The Role:
  • Research and development of algorithms for use with the company products
  • An important part of data science is extracting, transforming and loading data (ETL) which requires excellent programming and scripting skills
  • Release of tested algorithms to the development teams
  • Development of vision based algorithms
  • Integration of algorithms into an embedded Linux Hardware System
  • Contributing to system architecture design
  • Contributing to design/development to ensure requirements are catered for


The Person:
  • To be successful you will have strong mathematical reasoning skills, and strong programming skills
  • As a Computer Vision Scientist you will be a programming expert who is comfortable in a range of different languages such as C/C++, Python, Linux, R (Shiny), OpenCV
  • Ideally you will have extensive experience with the Linux operating system and be comfortable learning new skills quickly
  • Strong background in maths/physics/machine learning
  • Machine learning: Cascade classifiers, Boosting, supervised learning, neural networks, clustering, feature extraction, robotic vision, SVM
  • Being able to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
  • Having a good understanding of design and architecture principles
