Salary between £32,548 - £38,832 pa depending on experience + excellent benefits packageOne of Talent Internationals leading clients are looking for an experienced MS Business Intelligence Designer/Designer- Data and integration who will be responsible for the following
- Translating user requirements provided by business areas, business analysts, subject matter experts and working groups into technical designs and documentation
- Design the dimensional databases to hold the reporting data taking into account considerations such as
- load the data into SSAS multidimensional and tabular models
- Strong ability to report from the data using SSRS
- Solid tracking of changed data,
- conformance of the data with other processes,
- Design the data extract, transformation and load (ETL) processes to support the reporting service, working with subject matter experts
- Taking into account considerations such as data quality, cleansing, security
- Work with the presentation layer designers and SMEs to design the multidimensional database dimensions and cubes to support the business reporting requirements and enable efficient data load
- Carry out the build and test work associated with the ETL processes, database creation / load and cube creation / load
- Work with DBAs to size the databases, tune the performance and ensure the sustainability of of the end to end solution
- Define and create views and write stored procedures
- Produce standardised documentation associated with each of the above tasks and ensure that these are published as appropriate
- Implement, support and maintain the database load and integration processes
- Comply with the change management processes
- Identify and report on any risks associated with the design and implementation process
- Other activities related to the reporting services as appropriate
EXPERIENCE
Experience of translating business requirements into technical design
- Significant hands-on experience designing and building ETL solutions
- Dimensional database design experience in a Microsoft BI environment
- Significant experience of developing and deploying ETL and dimensional / multidimensional database and OLAP solutions
- SSIS design and build
- SQL Server
- SQL, creation of views, writing of stored procedures
- Understanding of industry standard approaches to dimensional design and ETL
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Produce dimensional and multidimensional models and designs
- Produce efficient ETL designs
- Develop, test and implemement ETL packages
- Develop and deploy SSIS and solutions
- Work with DBAs to size and tune the dimensional databases objects
- Work well within a team and used to supporting / advising / mentoring other team members
- ITIL
- Project Management
- Oracle and Oracle Financials reporting tools such as Discoverer
- SSAS, SSRS, SSMS
- Reporting and business intelligence in a HE environment
- Experience of leading teams comprising of multi-skilled technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience of writing standards / designing templates for design / development processes
