Description
Data Engineer - Java/Scala/Hadoop
Large scale investment bank currently looking to build out a new and exciting big data team. Excellent opportunity to work with one of the best teams in Dublin on a global analytics platform for use across the entire business, utilising cloud and big data technologies to allow the bank to make better decisions faster.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong Scala or Java development skills (Scala would be the first preference but we will consider candidates with strong Java skill set and willing to learn Scala)
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Apache Hadoop
- SQL Programming Competency (with practical experience of at least one RDBMS)
- Strong understanding of software build/release mgmt (with at least one build tool eg ANT)
- Good understanding of unit testing concepts
- Familiarity with development patterns
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with RDF and SPARQL
- Understanding of Reference Data domain
