Image Processing Engineer - OCR
Our client a smart technology company are seeking an Image Processing Engineer contractor for the next 6-8 weeks on a project. This is an exciting new image processing AR prototype project.
They are currently having issues with the object focusing of their Camera and will need to enhance the magnifying lens in order to transfer data through their device. The client currently do not have a Wi-Fi set up, so please take into account that the engineer will need to develop the OCR offline.
The key task will be able to build prototypes for OCR implementation using available public and private engines.
Key Skills
- Embedded C
- OCR (optical camera recognition)
- Image processing, algorithm development
- Experience of developing prototypes
- Bluetooth, wifi would be ideal but not essential.
- The data is sent to an android controller.
- Knowledge of high accuracy OCR engines and ability to optimise them including Tesseract OCR, Open CV among other models is critical
- Some knowledge of mobile app development would be useful as OCR has to be implemented using an app on Android connected device
