IT Engineer Expert
I am urgently looking for a Skilled IT Engineer Expert to join my clients site in Amsterdam. This is a long term project with a major financial client.
Your main tasks:
- Get to know the services in TPA through analysis of the current level of service and the underlying causes.
- At request or at own initiative formulate a resilience improvement plan to gain a higher reliability level by creating structural solutions instead of workarounds through Root Cause analysis (Problem and Risk management practices)
- Prioritise and implement the improvement plan with the responsible teams
- Recognise shortcomings and deliver the necessary resources, skills, guidance and training to teams where needed.
- Setting up and maintaining a test framework, write fully automated tests (eg, unit-, functional-, non-functional- and integration testing) and a continuous delivery pipeline
- Setting up and maintaining automatic reporting and feedback loops
- Onboarding of teams, teaching the resilience and reliability fundamentals, guiding them through Continuous Improvement, Continuous Delivery processes & Software Engineering Practices
- Build, enhance and maintain tooling and scripts to automate repetitive or error prone tasks
- Researching of cutting edge software, refactor and reuse existing code/modules/functionality
You recognize yourself in this profile
- Mastery in at least one programming language, Java is a plus;
- Working knowledge of configuration tools like Puppet, Chef or Ansible
- Scripting experience in at least one of the following: Ruby, Python, Bash, Powershell
- Solid foundation in Linux, Apache Tomcat and API's/webservices administration and troubleshooting;
- Proven experience with automation;
- Be able to understand and formulate meaningful business metrics;
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers;
- Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
- Experience with agile software development practices
- Experience with software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience with building systems with multiple layers of redundancy to withstand failures in software, hardware, network infrastructure.
