Advantage Resourcing have a fantastic contract opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to work with our client, a major and well respected defence client based in Broad Oak or Frimley.

The client is paying £40 per hour.

This is an initial 12 month contract.

The successful candidate will have worked in a secure/defence environment in the last 12 months.

The role:

Our client have a vacancy for an experienced Ada/C software engineer to join the NAUTIS 5 product team, based in offices in Frimley, Surrey. You will be working on the software development of the Mine Warfare Combat Management System for the UK Royal Navy's mine hunting fleet. You will also be involved in the production of technical documentation and test scripts.

Experience/skills required:

  • Ada and C development skills must be excellent with, ideally, 5+ years of experience.
  • Other skills that will strengthen your application include: SQL (PostgreSQL), Linux application development & administration
  • Previous experience of working on the NAUTIS product is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience of all aspects of the S/W life cycle, such as: requirement definition, high & low level designs, integration, testing and product delivery.
  • Experience of working on large software developments.
  • Interpersonal skills - Highly motivated, proactive, organised, inclusive team worker.
