Description
We are currently looking for a Consultant to work as a GIS Specialist.Our client a leader in renewable energy and is looking for a junior GIS Specialist to support the GIS Specialist for their offshore wind farm project. The Consultant will receive, review QA, analyse and distribute GIS Data, visualise data on different platforms. This is a 12-month freelance contract to start from 1st February 2018 up until 31st January 2019. Hours of work will be on average 8, 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all geotechnical data.
- To perform analysis of geographical data for consent, foundation, substation, electrical, WTG, design, site investigation management, which will include advice on cable optimisation and lay-out
- Specify GIS data deliveries from external suppliers and QC all GIS data.
- Create charts and presentations.
- Maintain up to date geographical information database.
- Set up project-specific WindGIS.
- To update and analyse environmental, archaeological, UXO and other man-made constraints for planning, lay-out, surveys and installation.
- Scope and manage site GIS activities.
- To introduce site organisation to GIS and WindGIS including clarification of needs for additional functionality or data available in web solution.
- Keep in continuous dialog with site and project to secure requirements are met, enter into discussions, negotiations and dialog with all relevant engineers.
- MSc or other relevant Master degree in GIS.
- The Consultant should be proficient in the ArcGIS package, including ArcPro.
- Experience of working with SDE databases, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS for server.
- Must have a good knowledge of EIA's, consent applications and offshore wind development.

- The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone (i-Phone 4S, 5C, 5S, 6 or 6+ or a Window phone 8.1) & PC with MS Office software.
- The Consultant must have his/her own PPE equipment.
