Senior Data Engineer (Contract)
Duration: 6 months
Location: Citywest, Dublin
The Purpose of Your Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to work on the delivery of strategic data initiatives by the Data Engineering Team.
The Skills You Bring
- Experience of providing technical leadership, preferably across geographic disparate locations.
- Experience with data integration concepts and products in a large scale database implementation.
- Strong experience in end- to-end performance analysis and tuning.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle database Scripting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work closely with various inter-related groups & team members as well as business and technical partners, in a matrixed environment.
- Self-starter with ability to take initiative to achieve goals and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Experience of PostgreSQL would be an advantage.
- Experience of data solutions in the Cloud (eg AWS, Azure) would be an advantage.
The Value You Deliver
- Creation of ETL & database project-level technical designs & documentation based on team/Fidelity best practices & standards.
- Coding, testing and performance tuning of software deliverables.
- Assist Project Managers with estimation and project plan creation.
- Represent project deliverables in interactions with architecture team.
- Perform code reviews of project ETL deliverables.
- Assist with managing deliverables to agreed timelines.
- Act as a point of technical escalation and resolution for database & ETL issues during the project life cycle.
- Assist the Quality Assurance group with the creation and execution of test cases.
- Plan, monitor and support production installs as part of a managed deployment process (CI/CD).
How Your Work Impacts the Organization
The team delivers data and analytics solutions to our business partners and external customers. Key technologies include Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, OBIEE, Informatica and Tableau, amongst others.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree, preferably in an Information Systems or Mathematics discipline.
- Over 5 years hands-on experience with Oracle, Informatica and general ETL development.
- Exposure to Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing and modelling concepts.
- Strong hands-on experience of writing and tuning SQL.
- Strong Agile experience.
