A multinational aviation client is looking to get a Solutions Architect - Big Data (Cloudera) to implement solutions as part of their digital transformation project. This is a contract role for a minimum of 12 months extendable, to be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

JOB PURPOSE
Architect, design and communicate high-level structural and behavioural aspects of a system to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs in alignment with corporate IT standards and architecture guiding principles. This necessitates engagement throughout the life cycle of projects by taking full responsibility for the solution architecture.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Experience:
Information Technology 6+ Years
Experience in modern Information system architectures and design including technical leadership
Applied skills in modelling, design and development of Big data solutions
Bridging the gap between Functional and Technical teams especially in an Agile development environment
Experience in architecting and maintaining technologies such as Hadoop.
Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrable experience of which at least two years should be at a supervisory level related to Information & Analytics architecture. Experience in large corporate and multi-cultural environments would be advantageous.

- Map Reduce and Yarn
- Spark and Spark Streaming
- Kafka, Flume, Sqoop
- Hive, Pig, Impala
- Oozie
- Experience of working in Public Cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
- Data and Information Management experience
- Experience with following technologies is a bonus:
- Search engines such as Elastic Search, Solr/Lucene
- NoSQL database such as Cassandra, HBase, Couchbase
- Cache Grids (Oracle Coherence, ActiveSpaces, Redis)
- Data Science - Python, R, MLLib
- Datameer/Trifacta/Paxata and similar tools
