Description
For one of the biggest financial institutions of the Benelux, based in Brussels, I am looking for a C++ Software Engineer who will join their internationally diverse and dynamic team. This will be a project for at least six months with the intention to renew after that. For this job it is essential that you speak either English and Dutch or English and French.
Context of the job
The IT department of this company is providing with business services to merchants such as electronic payments, on-line authorizations and capture, and merchant payments. The role of a software engineer is to translate functional requirements into technical solutions, develop and monitor development by offshore teams, deliver and configure solutions on test & production environments, support test, deployment & production teams. In this job you will implement and maintain simulation tools in order to do extensive performance testing, and that has sufficient experience in C++ to act as a technical coach.
Key responsibilities
- Draw system design & detailed technical description of critical payment solutions for our customers
- Develop & integrate application components (C/C++ environment)
- Develop & maintain simulation tools for performance testing
- Validate work delivered (technical documents, code, scripts, test results)
- Analyze problems raised by customers or production support, find and implement a solution (mostly in an emergency/crisis context with high pressure and quick results expectation)
- Act as a senior C++ expert and contact point for more junior colleagues, coach and support them
Required skills
- Minimum 7 years' experience in IT, in C++, expecting thorough C++ expertise
- Knowledge in the payment or banking industry would be an additional asset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand way; able to provide with feed-back (+/-)
- Fluency in French and English, or Dutch and English
- Able & willing to work in an international & multi-cultural environment
- Good knowledge of C/C++, Unix tools and XML/XML schemas
