Description
I am looking for a Open Source Developer (ODS) for a minimum 12 months contract with my client based in Galway, Dublin.
See below some details about the project and your main responsibilities for this project:
You will work with the Information Services and Development team to carry out a range of design and development functions to support the development and maintenance of Real Time and archive data systems, including to:
- Provide technical design for extensible and maintainable open source solutions;
- Support the addition of new data sources to the existing streaming data architecture which is based on open-source technologies including Python, Apache Kafka and Apache Cassandra;
- Support the development of large-scale data stores;
- Provide data access through relevant APIs such as MQTT and REST services;
- Develop data visualisations;
- Operationalise the existing streaming data infrastructure utilising automation tools such as Jenkins where appropriate.
It is very important that you meet the following requirements:
Development and integration of open sources software systems for Real Time data processing:
- Software Development Experience
- Technical Organisation & Communications Skills
And it is also important to have:
a) A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Systems or equivalent
b) A minimum of 7 years' experience in Open Source Development
