For our client we are looking for a Mobile Data Core Solution Engineer.
The usage of the mobile Internet and mobile data is expected to multiply at least by 5 within the 5 following years, requiring a constant & fast modernization of the network to cope with the boom of smartphones & tablets. There are more and more new data services types and always-on applications (eg e-mail, mobile payment, video streaming, machine-to-machine, ) which need to be supported by the network to meet the business requirements from corporate & residential markets.
A project of network evolution is on-going to deploy the "Network Function Virtualization (NFV)" technology on top of the company's Telco Cloud.
The Mobile Data Core Solution Engineer plays a key role in this evolution by defining, integrating and validating the solution on top of the company's Telco Cloud. S/he will support the deployment of the solution in the field and the migration of the current services on this new technology. S/he will contribute to the development of new services (VoWifi, NB-IoT) on this new technology.

* Will be strongly involved in the challenging projects to design, test and implement the modernization of the core network & new technologies (eg Voice Over LTE, IPv6, Network function virtualisation)
* Translates business requirements into technical design and recommends the best fitting solution & network architecture
* Ensures accurate and cost effective network design and is continuously focused on further improving network performance, quality and customer experience of data services.
* Aligns with internal stakeholders on implementation of new products or features and translates needs into qualitative solutions with low time to market in close cooperation with external vendors.
* Plays a key role to ensure capacity & quality of the mobile data core network elements in high growth context.
* Supports the operational department in case of incidents and design solutions which strengthen the stability of the services for the customers with the required "workpack" method of procedures.
We are looking for:
Either a junior engineer with high potential, motivated by the new IP and data technologies, able to quickly learn and work in a (project) team.
Either a senior engineer with high skills on the mobile data and mobile Internet domain and potentially with good skills on NFV/SDN.
Required skills:
1. You have experience on:
* LAN/WAN Routing & Switching skills (including routing protocols as BGP & OSPF).
* ICT technologies and knowledge of mobile data protocols (Radius, DNS, Diameter, LDAP, GPRS, UMTS, GRE, L2TP) and mobile platforms (GGSN, SGSN, MME, PCRF, S-PGW).
2. You have experience in design, implementation and validation of new services and technologies, as well as capacity & quality follow-up.
3. You are a good team player with excellent communication & presentation skills; you have project management skills and are able to elaborate business cases.
4. You are dynamic, proactive, autodidactic and a swift learner; you respect your engagements are motivated to deliver a qualitative work with a "can do" attitude; you think, analyse and decide on a cost effective way; you are open and stress resistant in fast evolving environment.
5. You have significant experience with Office Excel, Access, Visio and server systems (Linux, Solaris, Windows). Other skills. Master in IT or in telecommunication or equivalent by experience.
6. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Dutch and/or French is an asset.
