Big Data/Linux/Java/Enterprise
Senior Site Reliability Engineer urgently required Senior DevOps Engineer for a Global Software Services provider, who have created a cloud based Big Data Analytics Platform. This is an initial 6 month contract role based in central London.

As the successful Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for the diagnosing and fixing of large scale projects, ensuring large systems are built well and are very reliable.
We require experience of bringing together High Availability, Scalability and Efficiency for distributed systems, by providing excellent application support

The Ideal profile of this individual is:
1. Strong Linux (systems and internals)
2. Software development background/experience (Java)
3. Experience with BigData technologies (Hadoop, Spark, kudu, etc)
4. Production/Operations experience

My client may also consider those with:
1. Strong Linux
2. Strong Experience Scripting python
3. at least 1 item from ordered list below
4. Production/Operation environment if possible.

OR the third profile they may consider is:

Profile 2 - Software Developer type
1. Software developer - Java
2. Strong Linux experience
3. worked with at least 1 item from ordered list below
4. interested in Embedded DevOps/Site Reliability role
In addition to the above, those that have expertise in at least 1 of the following(more is better of course):

  • Kudu
  • Mesos/DCOS or Kubernetes
  • Distributed systems design with a solid understanding of consensus algorithms
  • HDFS
  • Microservices
  • Spark
  • Postgres
