Cobol Developer - Contract - Brussels
Role:
Knowledge Transition: Participate in knowledge transfer sessions, prepare and review system appreciation documents, understand application/system/infrastructure dependencies, perform shadow support on applications in scope.
Knowledge Management: Build and sustain knowledge repository including system appreciation documentation of all applications in scope.
Technical Design: Perform high and low level design, provides pseudo code, implements prototypes and perform design reviews.
Testing: Lead the team for integration/system/performance testing based on integration and system test plans and support user acceptance testing.
Maintenance & Production Support: Participate in analysis of incoming cases/tickets, assign tickets to other team members as relevant, track fixing of tickets and verification of the fixes, tracking of SLAs, performing root cause analysis of defects and elimination of root causes, running process improvement initiatives to reduce defects.Business Support: Provide needed support to the Business users in resolving their day to day queries.
Mandatory Skills/experience Required:
Technical - Proficient in Mainframe programming on Cobol (including advanced concepts), DB2, CICS, VSAM.
Domain - Functional analyst experience on Insurance domain, preferably with Belgium based Insurance companies.
Language - Fluent in either French or Dutch language with respect to speaking, reading and writing.
Personal - Excellent analytical skills and customer orientation, excellent verbal and written communication skills, high quality awareness, good team player, result oriented, able to work independently and self-driven
