Oracle Ops Engineer (Java)
For one of my globally leading banking clients I am urgently looking for a Dutch speaking Oracle Ops Engineer to be based from my clients amazing offices in Amsterdam. This is a great opportunity paying excellent hourly rates!
You will be an experienced Ops Engineer of Oracle Engineered systems (Exadata and ZDLRA).
You are an energetic DevOps Engineer with a passion for IT Infrastructure, positive can-do mind-set and a team player.
Skills & experience:
. Bachelor/Master of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
. Minimal 3 year experience with EXADATA, operation and maintenance
. Minimal 5 year experience as senior Oracle Engineer on Linux with ASM
. Solid experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager
. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
. Extensive experience with UNIX Shell Scripting, SQLPLUS en PL/SQL is a "MUST"
. Experience with working in DevOps teams (Agile/SCRUM)
. Great English and Dutch communication skills, verbal as well as written.
. ITIL, Cloud, Performance & Tuning, clusters knowledge are a must.
. Work in standby shifts.
. Flexible work hours, willing to work in the weekend.
As a Oracle Ops engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our clients Engineered systems estate (18 configurations over 4 DC's) which is the heart of our Database as a Service (DBaaS).
The operation and maintenance is from the hardware up to the Operating Systems on the configs.
The operational and maintenance of databases and ASM is NOT included in this role.
You will work in close corporation with the DBaaS squads (approx. 30 people in 4 different countries).
You will be actively driving the quality of the delivery of operations, and taking every opportunity to automate and eliminate manual labour.
As the operational and maintenance role will mature and grow we expect documentation and operational procedures as an important delivery.
This will to help us to setup an application support DevOps teams regarding the Oracle DB's.
Standby duties are part of your role and some activities will be planned and performed outside normal office hours.
