Networkers are currently looking for a Media Relations Officer for a lrage government organisation, located in London Waterloo.
The purpose of the Media Relations Officer is to support the Head of News and the Deputy Director, Media Relations in the delivery of effective media relations to ensure balanced coverage of organisations messages.
The role involves helping to manage the organisations interaction with print, broadcast and online media, generating positive awareness of achievements, regulatory actions and policy initiatives where appropriate, and handling sensitive situations that could have an adverse effect on the companies reputation.
Work with the Head of News to deliver the media relations components of the Communications Strategy.
Establish and maintain relationships and proactively engage with influential journalists across the media, including those with specific health interests.
Support senior managers and technical experts in their direct engagement with the media, by overseeing their interaction with journalists and helping them prepare for interviews.
