Description
We are looking for one "RUBY Developer" to start from ASAP a 9-weeks contract (initial, extensions possible) for an international Org'-client in Rome. With possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability. Our client is an international organisation and a great reference in any CV! English speaking environment. Our client has a growing portfolio of web applications leveraging Ruby/Rails and other web technologies.
TASKS
The consultant is responsible for Ruby on Rails application development, supporting business objectives while providing expertise in software development life cycle phases from design to testing. The consultant work as part of team supervising other developers and will analyse and develop solutions to address the reorganization of clients' departments structure and positions changes, in detail:
- Analyse requirements
- Improve integration between People and PeopleSoft HR and Ruby
- Review workflow changes
- Align changes to systems
- Provide overall support to the Ruby on Rails system affected by the reorganization
- Any other duties as required;
REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with at least six years of professional work experience, of which 3 must be with the Ruby on Rails Development Framework using Behaviour/Test Driven Development methodology.
- Experience of APIs for Ruby on Rails applications
- Experience of both designing and executing technical solutions from business requirements.
- Participation in open source projects is desirable.
- Ability to document technical projects.
Required competencies
- Good knowledge of enterprise patterns, object-oriented design patterns and programming techniques
- Knowledge of major Agile Project Management techniques (Scrums, XP, etc.)
- Experience in reading and writing main UML diagrams
- Knowledge of GIT versioning systems
- Knowledge of the most used Web development technologies (CSS, Ajax, JavaScript frameworks like EmberJS)
Proven track record in the following technologies:
- Databases: CouchDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle 10g, MS SQL Server
- Operating Systems: Mac OSX, Linux, Windows
Languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
