Location: Sunbury On Thames
Duration: 6 months Rolling
The role of Front End Developer (FED) is responsible for developing a graphical web app following the design laid out by the visual designer. The initial product will be a graphical map of our digital eco-system displaying applications in use and data flows between them for any given process. Users of the web app must be able to update the maps by adding more apps and data lines as they share what they do locally.
The Front End Developer (FED) will be part of an agile scrum team located at Sunbury, so duties will include attending daily scrums, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives and planning meetings. The Front End Developer (FED) will also be expected to demonstrate Incremental deployments to the business.
The FED will work closely with all scrum team members, particularly the User Experience, Visual Design team members as well as the Data Modeller (DBA) and Back End Developer. Responsibilities include contribution to the team, helping others in the team as and when required including testing with the client.
The Front End Developer will ideally possess the following key skills:
- Canvas WebGL
- Angular 5+,
- JavaScript
- D3 js
- Angular js
- jQuery, JSP and JSTL
- HTML5 and CSS3
- SCSS
- BootStrap
- Adherence to Development Standards
- Other 3d modelling languages and tools or able to create graphical 2d animated models
- Experience working in a scrum team and delivering products in an agile framework
- Confident in demonstrating products in progress to Product Owners and Business Stakeholders
- Able to work with Database Managers and Back End Developers
- Understand Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Azure
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the scrum team
As per the role accountabilities above, the key deliverables will be:
- Develop web app to display an interactive map of digital eco-system
- Deliver incremental deployment packages for each sprint end
- Demonstrate the web app to peers and business stakeholders
- Work with UX and VD in developing to their design
- Test in Integration, Test, UAT and Production Azure environments
- Work with Scrum team to estimate # of points for user stories and contribute to the prioritisation of work.
Essential
- Typically greater than 2 years of Front End Developer experience
- Good knowledge of required functional domain and/or appropriate toolsets
- Experience of delivering mid -large scale projects to multiple business units and/or multiple geographies
- Good documentation skills
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise in one complex or in multiple simple areas
- Rapidly absorbs new technical information and applies it effectively
- Develops and applies a breadth of knowledge of technical skills and applications and their link to relevant areas of the business
- Determines actual impact of business and IT decision on infrastructure and applications
- Works well with other developers and associate skill sets within scrum team
