IT DevOps Engineer (Java Coding)

For one of my globally leading financials clients I am looking for an IT DevOps Engineer who is creative, passionate IT DevOps engineer with solid Java coding ability and a passion for process automation for our delivery teams(squad) and chapter(craftmanship team).

As an IT DevOps Engineer with Java Coding experience you will have good KYC (know your customer) knowledge such as FATCA, FEC and CRS.

Most of your time will be spent as a member of a multidisciplinary squad which has the responsibility for the 7. 24 hour operational stability and availability of that squads applications on the D-T-A-P environment.

Your time will also be spent as a member of a Chapter Stacks, where you will help grow CIM's craftmanship in the area of Stack management using latest developments from within and outside my clients own environment.

This involves technologies such as Docker, Ansible, and OpenShift.

You will be able to initially develop and manage various (Java) REST APIs/Front End applications. Other technologies within CIM include TIBCO, Scala, and PEGA.

Your main tasks will be
* To play a positive role with your squad and chapter, helping grow the experience and autonomy level of these teams.
* Make sure that the application is always available, and by always, we mean 24x7.
* Implement leanly documented automation solutions
* Deploy changes/releases and produce the deliverables/evidence required by several related ITIL processes (eg incident -, configuration -, change management, yes!)
* Automate deployments as part of the continuous delivery.
* Test the performance of web-applications and apply tuning.
* Define dependencies with other teams and translate these to user stories.
* Make sure the requirements are such that the Product Owner or Customer Journey Expert in your squad understands them.
* Support risk procedures and processes

Technical Knowledge:

* Configure and maintain application and chain monitoring (with Seyren and ELK-stack for example).
* Define and/or support chain, acceptance, performance, scalability and resilience testing.

Technical experience/capabilities:

* Knowledge of Java Rest API development
* Knowledge of Apache/tomcat;
* You handle operational risk controls in an efficient way, proactively contributing to prevent security and operational risks;
* Knowledge of Linux environments, bash Scripting etc is a bonus
* Knowledge of and/or experience with, Java and Angular/Polymer) is a bonus;
* Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery using modern OSS tools such as Jenkins, Nolio, Ansible, Docker, Maven, Gitlab and Artifactory is a bonus;
* Capacity/Availability Monitoring, knowledge of well-known OSS tools in this area (Logstash, Graphite, Grafana, etc.) is a bonus;
Also, you are fluent in English, both spoken and in writing.

Working location is Leeuwarden, but you must be prepared to incidentally travel to Amsterdam & Brussels, Belgium.
Contract: 31 Dec 2018 + Extensions.
Rates: Excellent!
