Description

* Oracle PL/SQL database development (essential)
* Knowledge of database administration experience (highly desirable)
* Data analysis (highly desirable)
* Familiar with GIT SCM (highly desirable)
* RedHat/CentOS 6 experience (desirable)
* Knowledge of Scripting languages including python, bash and Shell (desirable)
* Performance tuning/query optimisation (desirable)
* Familiar with JIRA and Confluence (desirable)
* Familiar with Jenkins CI (desirable)
* Familiar with RPM (RedHat Package Manager) (optional)
* Use of test driven/behaviour driven development processes (optional)
* Data design/architecture (optional)
* Ability to manipulate and report data in Excel (optional)

Main Tasks are:
* Developing packages to extract source data and perform data aggregations; utilizing scripted queries
* Innovative development and test of ETL routines
* Optimisation/performance tuning of queries where required
* Plans or implements migration of data or operations between database products, versions or environments
* Designs and documents, or validates, the data access mechanisms to guarantee that transactions are processed reliably and data is efficiently stored and retrieved
* Delivers code and configured Middleware, as well as supporting artefacts, which fulfil supplied requirements
* Exploits appropriate methods, languages, libraries, tools, and techniques and applies these to engineering tasks to realise the most effective outcome
* Ensures that all artefacts are produced to defined standards where standards exist, and to withstand professional scrutiny in any case
* Works as a member of an engineering team, collaborating with other team members, and participates in technical discussions and conversations with customers
* Produces or validates the schedule and effort estimate for each task they perform
* Demonstrates skill and adeptness in team collaboration, technical discussion and negotiation
* Ensures that high quality and delivery standards are met and consistently delivers quality code on time and within estimate.
* Working in an Agile environment
