Description
Resource 1 is in need of a Micro Focus COBOL Developer for a 6-month contract position. Individual should have at least 7 years of overall development experience, with an emphasis on Micro Focus COBOL for at least 2 years. Individual will be programming in MF COBOL, Visual Studio, SQL and MS Windows. The project will primarily involve modifications and enhancements to Financial (Back-Office) application systems, written in Micro Focus COBOL on MS Windows. Selected individual will work in an Agile environment and make enhancements to the system, based on the requirements/user stories. Individual will get involved in coding, testing, implementing and supporting post implementation changes for Financial (Back-Office) Settlement systems. Individual will modify existing MF COBOL programs to handle in-coming data from various sources. Experience working with FTP and directories is a plus for this position. Prior experience with electronic funds transfer (ie ATM, EBT, POS) is also a plus for this position. Strong communication skills are essential for this position, because of the interaction with different departments.
