Description
We have a requirement for Specialist Programmers with Mainframe Cobol and Midrange Java development skills to work on a Cobol to Java transition programme of work commencing early July for a 6-12 month period at a Government department in Canberra.
Mandatory Expertise:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in large scale Cobol application development in a Mainframe environment using the following technologies:
- CICS 3270
- Job Control Language (JCL)
- DB2 or Oracle
- IBM MQ
- Batch
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) application development using the following technologies:
- Java Server Faces (JSF)
- Java Server Pages (JSP)
- RESTful or SOAP based Web Services
- HTML
- Cascaded Style Sheets (CSS)
- Java Persistence API (JPA)
- Java Messaging Service (JMS)
Highly Desirable Expertise:
Experience in:
Large scale DELTA application development in a Mainframe environment.
Developing web applications that are compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 specification.
The client requires the applicants to hold Australian Citizenship for this role.
