Senior Android Developer
Overview: This position is for a Senior Android developer to work on the Verizon My Fios & 5G projects. The resource will be designing, implementing, integrating, and testing Android application code with native UI controls utilizing Verizon's Back End APIs to manage Fios services.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in IT/Computer related degree
- 5+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of experience developing native - Android mobile applications (including UI implementation, WebView integration, consumption of XML/JSON/REST services, and SQLite/databases)
- 3+ years of experience in Android (Android Studio/Java/Android SDK)
- Experience with the Android Material Design Interface Guidelines & Android app permissions.
- Experience using advanced Android capabilities including GCM/FCM, camera, multimedia playback
- Solid knowledge of the mobile industry. Intimate knowledge of Android devices, platform and application experiences.
- Passion for great application architecture and user-experience.
- General understanding of mobile networking and cloud/content services.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications (In addition to the Required Qualifications):
- Experience with Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins tools.
- Experience with an ORM like ActiveAndroid is a plus.
- Experience with AR (augmented reality) technologies is a plus.
- Experience with the Realm data management library is a plus.
- Experience with the Promises background processing library is a plus.
- Experience with deploying on Amazon Web Services is a plus.
- Experience with debugging apps via AppSee & Crashlytics is a plus.
- Having published one or more applications to the Google Play Store is a plus.
- Experience working on ordering/billing systems (especially for a service provider)
- Knowledge and previous experience/analysis of telecommunications & entertainment products & services, business processes, and back-office systems is desired.
- 2+ years of experience with RDBMS (SQL Server or Oracle) or NoSQL (MongoDB, CassandraDB, Redis, etc.)
