Description
Our client, a leading fund manager based in London are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their project team on an initial 12 month contract basis.
The core of the role is using Java 8 and above, following Agile practices (Scrum, TDD, CI, Clean Code, etc.). They are looking for a full-stack Java developer who's comfortable collaborating with business users to refine requirements, demo changes, assist them with UAT, etc...
The team's core product uses Vaadin UI in the browser, Activiti BPMN workflow engine and an Apache Ignite grid-computing framework to run Java tasks on the Back End.
Systems: Java 8 and above, IntelliJ, MS SQL, RESTful services, Git, Atlassian suite (Jira, BitBucket, Crucible, FishEye, Confluence)
Skills/Experience
- Vaadin: or another programmatic Java UI technology like Swing or JavaFX
- Activiti: or other BPEL workflow tool
- Java web server/container exposure (Jetty, tomcat, JEE etc)
- Java web services exposure (Servlets, REST etc)
- From an investment banking or investment management background
