- The big project they are working on is one that entails finishing building a new platform for cost analytics, prepaid claims, cost containing edits, etc. and moving all data over from the old Legacy system to the new built platform.
- They will be migrating data analytics from the SQL Server platform and shifting to run into a Hadoop environment
- Need at least 4+ years' experience working with SQL and TSQL
- Scala and Hadoop are pluses
- Healthcare industry experience is required
- Will help with the conversion of logic or data to the new system and analyze data to make sure it converted properly
- This is 80% technical and 20% analytical
- Need MS excel
- Business facing so need good communication skills
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented individual for a SQL Developer/Analyst who participates in the Back End development of business analytics platform including design, development, unit/load testing, deployment and maintenance of a key strategic enterprise solution.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Writes SQL stored procedures on new and existing applications
- Modifies existing SQL stored procedures to correct errors, to adapt it to new environment and improve performance
- Design complex SQL procedures based on requirements
- Works with Business Systems Analysts to ensure programming code meets business requirements.
- Monitors functioning of SQL stored procedures to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of final output.
- Provides status reports to lead and management as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Three+ years programming in SQL including stored procedures, triggers, and experience with SSIS
- Three+ years with relational database development in SQL Server
- Ability to apply proficient knowledge of the following database and database query and Scripting languages (SQL Server, SQL, T-SQL)
- Ability to apply knowledge of ETL development tools such as SQL
- Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Ability to apply knowledge with source code control tools such as Git and VSTS
- Experience with Microsoft Azure's cloud computing platform services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure API Management a plus
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies a plus
- Experience with Hadoop, Scala, and Spark a plus
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Ability to be careful and thorough with detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
Minimum Related Work Experience:
- 3+ (or Master's degree & 3+) years related experience including Back End design, maintenance and delivery
