Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major retail client in the UK. We are currently recruiting Technical Software Manager to be based in London for an initial period of 3 months contract.
Job Title: Technical Software Manager
The Maximum Pay Rate: upto £600 per day
Location: London
Contract Length: 3 months
Main tasks are:
Looking for someone who will be managing a team of five, we need someone who can mentor, attend scrum meetings, undertake quality reviews but is willing to get involved in technical issues (not just manage escalations).
What you need to know:
Very strong experience with Java (5+ years)
Experience with Spring Boot
Good understanding of design patterns and S.O.L.I.D. principles
Good knowledge of building and extending REST API
Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
Behavioral testing and unit testing (Junit, Mockito)
Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) databases
Version control (Git)
CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GoCD or similar)
AWS
API design and documenting tools
Nice to have:
Experience with Python, Javascript or Node
Experience with Docker
Experience with AWS Lambda
Experience with Redis and Elasticsearch
Experience with MyBatis
What you need to show:
Demonstrable experience in using Java to deliver robust and scalable web applications
High level of understanding for a number of technical skills, attitudes and behaviours
Provide engineering advice for technical/architectural issues
Proactively seeking opportunities to improve your knowledge and abilities
Experience of building and working with RESTful services/APIs
Experience of working with relational and non-relational databases
Ability to mentor junior developers
Ability to convey and communicate ideas and opinion to peers
A positive attitude towards working within a team and being a team player
