Description

A leading Dutch bank are looking for a Dev Engineer to re-design an Oracle Datawarehouse, experienced in ETL and PL/SQL

Your work environment

In this role you will work in the IT organization of Risk Management in a BusDevOps team.

All risks and issues of the bank are registered in an application which is the basis for multiple types of reports used by risk managers, and by higher country and corporate management. The reports give overview and details of risk and issue areas and relate to expected loss tolerance. The reports are used for ECB- and other regulatory reporting, audits, internal risk processes, provisioning processes, and to measure exposure, and are used to control the banks risk appetite.

Further development and improving the current Datawarehouse, and reporting functionality has been prioritised as a strategic objective. The current Oracle Datawarehouse is in a transformation phase: Business Intelligence (BI) functionality is being developed, to feed dynamic reports by Cognos.

Your key competences:

Excellent team player, persistent, service oriented, customer centric, eager to learn

You have excellent knowledge of and at least 5 years' experience with Oracle databases, including experience with data model of Data Warehouses and Business Intelligence. In specific:

You are capable to learn and oversee an entire Data Warehouse. You are capable to re-design the data model of the current DWH, to efficiently support current reporting.

You have excellent PL/SQL coding skills. In PL/SQL you are able to develop new ETL procedures, and fine-tune existing PL/SQL code for efficiency and maintenance reasons

You are capable to build Data Marts, to enable the building of interactive/BI reporting instead of our current static reports). Also you are capable to develop efficient and maintainable SQL queries

You are capable to educate/instruct report builders how to configure their reports so that they get up and running and can carry out themselves

You like to deep-dive technology, to search for root causes of issues and incidents, and to resolve them.
