Description
We are looking for a Oracle DBA to join our client.
To explain the set up in a nutshell:
-Our client running the Oracle database as an AWS RDS service
-The current database engine is Oracle Standard Edition One
-The database itself is also acting like a runtime data storage for a client proprietary hosted web application platform - MSDP - (based on JVM).
All applications or JVMs are using the same user to connect to the database.
-Our client can provide extended AWS metrics on the DB engine (CPU, RAM, SWAP etc.)
-The size of the DB is ~100 GB, 30 GB of RAM and it has ~600 simultaneous connections in peak traffic (even more when the incident occurs)
During an incident:
-Determine slow or long running SQL queries on the database
-Perform extended SQL trace on sessions identified as being slow
Then the following tasks can be performed any time, not just during incidents:
-Create a procedure/script to be able to execute previous 2 tasks without any DBA help
-Evaluate database setup and configuration and advise what actions to take according to best practices and traffic volume
