Description

My client designs, builds and optimises websites, they are specialists in all things WordPress. They deliver great looking sites with user-friendly content management systems that search engines love from day one. They aspire to make every client a long-term partner, by making sites that are easy to manage, they are more about long term strategy than how to change an image or line of copy.

They are looking to expand their team by taking on a Freelance Back End WordPress Developer. The successful candidate will be required to work a few hours, minimum, in the Kings Hill, Kent office each day. Flexible working can bring many welcomed benefits (eg improved work/life balance, increased job satisfaction, enhanced engagement/motivation and morale).

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on closing down Zendesk tickets in a timely manner, keeping the number of open tickets at minimal levels
  • Design and implement new features, enhancements, and content to existing websites
  • Troubleshoot PHP, MySQL, and CSS issues related to WordPress websites
  • Integrate with third-party APIs
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience of PHP Back End development
  • Able to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and aesthetic sensibilities
