We are currently searching for a Cloud en Container Engineer to work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for 1 year plus extensions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a large Dutch client.
The Department ICT provides a demonstrable added value to the success of this organization. It does this by initiating, designing, building and managing ICT applications in an innovative, integrated and professional manner. The ICT of this department is responsible for providing information from various operational IT services. In the field of large-scale information provision.
The department consists of 50 colleagues in 5 Agile teams, where we deliver innovative products within the allocated time and budget. Our working method has a strong focus on quality and safety and we need you hard!
The team The primary goal of our team is to keep the data services of the company vital. We do this by building and maintaining a wide range of core functionalities. The ESB and the API platform are of great importance in this.
In this team we are responsible for a stable and sustainable platform. The platform is built on OpenShift, where the API's run in pods and we can easily manage the Kubernetes cluster. With this setup we are able to scale up easily during peak times. One of our goals is to realize a minimal Time-To-Market, which is made possible by OpenShift's CI/Cd pipelines (Jenkins). The API Support Team provides guidelines and libraries for the development of APIs. The APIs themselves are created by the API Development Team.
APIs are made available to the outside world via 3Scale and the API software runs in containers on OpenShift. Both the configuration/LCM of 3scale and OpenShift is done in this team. You are responsible for maintenance on the API platform, troubleshooting with regard to Java-built APIs and the improvements to these (including LCM). This applies to developing and automating existing APIs in Openshift and 3scale. All APIs are made available via the API gateway, which is an implementation of OpenResty (Nginx + Lua).

However, a number of issues are important to find your new challenge in this team:
- You have done a relevant bachelor/master;
- You have knowledge and experience with API management and REST APIs;
- Your knowledge of API security is an advantage;
- You are experienced with Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins;
- In addition, you preferably also have experience with:
- Java
- Maven
- Git
- Apache Camel
- CDI/Weld of Spring (Boot)
- Opensift
- Elasticsearch or Lucene
- OpenResty (Nginx plus lua coding)
- 3Scale
