Description

The incumbent reports to the Project Board of the project for delivering the result and reports to the Head of PMO for PMBOK methodology. The incumbent performs the overall management of the projects that have been assigned to her/him including planning, managing, tracking, and reporting on the status of those projects. He/she will simultaneously manage all aspects of the delivery of multiple workstreams.
In line with the methodology prescribed by PMO, he/she will also ensure the implementation of practical business solutions under multiple deadlines, the provision of ongoing communications/reporting, timely completion, with high quality standards, in alignment with support procedures, and within budget. The role will include management of the project team and require close partnership with the outsourced systems provider, business, support and other WHO teams.
The incumbent works closely with other PMO colleagues to ensure that projects are functioning well, and that processes and procedures are in place to support the smooth operations.

3. Work to be performed The project for which we are contracting a Senior Project Manager is the establishment of EPI-Brain, an initiative that will allow stakeholders to utilize public health data including a myriad of complex factors that drive epidemics. For example, human and animal population movement, animal diseases,

environmental and meteorological factors. Using advanced analytics and data processing methods, EPI-BRAIN will support the discovery of hidden data partners that will improve the forecasting and prediction of epidemics. The project consists of several workstreams for which the PM has management responsibility:
1. Develop roadmap vison and concepts, packaged into presentational materials (video, PPT, infographic) (May . Develop a technical proposal for how to build the Big Data Framework that will underpin EPI-BRAIN 3. Design a governance approach for EPI-BRAIN 4. Define a business model for the implementation of EPI-BRAIN 5. Establish data protection and confidentiality governance 6. Develop technical working prototype

Note, above workstreams are subject to change depending on the outcome of the strategy, requirements and architectural design roadmap exercise (1)

The project will be implemented following several key principles including, (but not limited to); 1. Systems will be designed with low bandwidth connectivity in mind 2. Systems will be designed to accommodate user-driven configuration, flexibility and agility 3. Systems will be designed in a micro services approach
