On behalf of our client, an international finance institute located in Prague, we are looking for an external resource with skills and abilities as stated below:

Java Developer - Cloud Margin Estimator (f/m/x) financial area Prague - P497

Field of activity

Our clients IT is organised as a product organisation. Risk IT is part of the Risk Product, which mainly serves the Risk Management department, regulated under EMIR, MaRisk et.al.

Therefore, the services provided by Risk IT must meet regulatory standards and provide operational stability whilst keeping up with developments in new technology.

For a project related to our Cloud Margin Estimator application, we are looking for an external Java developer. You will be working on the API Back End of Risk's first cloud native application, running on AWS.

This is a public service open for anybody for calculating margins through a web-browser using the Risk methodology. It allows calculating margins for any submitted portfolio, containing futures, options, swaps, stocks, bonds, or repos.

Tasks/responsibilities

  • Be a member of a cross-functional team, including business analysts, Front End/Back End developers, and testers
  • Develop, test, deploy code related to the Cloud Margin Estimator project
  • Work with business analysts and other teams

Required qualifications/skills - you should possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Advanced programming competency in Java
  • Experience with container technologies (eg Docker)
  • Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud
  • Experience with GitHub
  • An appreciation of the challenges of building, running and maintaining a minimum downtime production system
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural international team
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

Preferred qualifications/skills - the following will be a plus:

  • Experience with CircleCI, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Experience with C++, Vert.x or gRPC
  • Experience with developing cloud native and 12factor applications
  • Knowledge of financial markets (OTC instruments)
