And that’s just the beginning. We are growing quickly and adding new features to turn Skratch into the ultimate travel companion.
As part of this, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our team to help build out new features on the backend, support our AWS setup and test external APIs for the roadmap. This is a great opportunity to join a young company ahead of the curve, and play a key role in its success.
This is initially a part time opportunity for 20 hours per month but with the potential to take on more responsibility & remuneration as the company grows. The successful applicant will be able to work remotely.
Responsibilities
• Build out API and database support for new features
• Monitor and optimise AWS server setup for resiliency and scalability
• Think about our API partner strategy and test external data sources for integration
• Document backend architecture with a close eye on future proofing our setup
• React fast to any backend issues as the userbase expands
Qualifications
• Strong experience with Node.js, MySQL and Redis (min 4-5 years)
• Knowledge of AWS and server architecture
• Entrepreneurial approach, hustler mind-set
• Fluent English (written & spoken)
• Good communication, teamwork and organizing skills
• A confident self-starter, with the ability to work independently, in a flexible manner and in an informally structured environment
