Description
GIS Data Engineer required for a 6 month contract to join a booming organization of note based in Sussex.
Working within a team you will use various methods to source and transform raw data into useful data systems, eg, ensuring data quality and cleanliness for new and novel data, create algorithms and conduct statistical analysis.
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, who is very detail orientated and can combine data from different sources with a desire to support with the creation of outstanding new products.
You will be responsible for adopting and creating new standards for data use.
Responsibilities
Source, analyse and organise raw data
Build data systems and pipelines
Evaluate business needs and objectives
Interpret trends and patterns and communicate the outcome to the wider business
Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling
Build algorithms and prototypes
Combine raw information from different sources
Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
Identify opportunities for data acquisition
Develop analytical tools and programs
Requirements
Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
Proven application and knowledge of programming languages (Particularly: Python, R, SQL)
Proven practical experience using PostgreSQL and MS SQL database design
Great numerical and analytical skills
