We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require a Service Designerfor one of their Clients based in Shipley.

  • IR35 - This role is inside of IR35
  • Location: Shipley (remote at present)
  • Initial Duration: 6 months

  • Analyse services to identify failures and pain points
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions and improvements to existing services
  • Understand user needs and identify where multiple interactions within government should act as one services to meet that need
  • Arrange the separate interactions into user journeys within the service
  • Facilitate sessions with stakeholders across multiple areas
  • Look for commonalities in activities across services where products could be made
  • Understand the existing supporting system of a service and design targeted improvements to that system to accommodate the new service - both digital and process based
  • Create and rapidly iterate service prototypes
  • Identify and design new cross government service patterns and standards

Essential skills:

  • Defining and conducting excellent stakeholder engagement
  • Building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, across teams and service domains
  • Ability to understand user needs and create user journeys that help people successfully navigate complex systems
  • Identifying where separate interactions should act as one service and design rational user journeys within that service, as well as commonalities in activities across services that create opportunities for product development
  • Helping to plan user research and usability testing, observing sessions, and helping to analyse the results of user research
  • Mapping current service journeys and creating blueprints for improved and/or new services
  • Creating and rapidly iterating service prototypes
  • Identifying and design service patterns and standards
  • Identifying the right ways to measure service success
  • Being a knowledge expert in service design
  • Developing future service propositions that deliver on policy intentions
  • Participate in thought leadership - introduce ideas and approaches to the broader team
  • Understand user needs and identify where separate interactions with government should act as one service that meet that need
  • Arrange these separate interactions into rational user journeys within that service
  • Be able to work quickly in an agile environment
  • Be able to explain ideas in a way that other people understand
  • Explain design decisions and be able to represent a service at a service assessment
  • Be able to sketch and prototype on paper and in HTML
