Technical Lead - Java
Inside IR35 - Mortgages - Remote working available
Our client who are a leading financial services organisation have an exciting requirement for a Technical Lead - Java to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. As a Technical Lead - Java, you will lead the engineering team, ensure the code base is small and efficient, utilising Java 8 and 11 where appropriate and working on the technical design and architecture, advising on technology decisions across the platform. You will also have commercial experience of working within a financial services industry and specific knowledge of mortgages.
Skills required:
- Java 11+ (Java 8 also ok but must be very proficient in Java 8)
- Spring Core and Boot
- Junit5 and Mockito
- REST API design
- MySQL or similar relational DBs
- MongoDB or similar NoSQL technologies
- AWS and securing back-ends
- Microservices
- Soft skills:
- Self-organised, can pick up things without a lot of support
- Worked in small Agile teams and understands Agile ways of working
- Can contribute to tech decisions, tech design and architecture, and prioritising roadmap for technical debt
- Vocal, asks the right questions, provides mentorship to the more junior devs
- Able to review Pull Requests and suggest enhancements to simplify and reduce codebase, especially by utilising Java 8 and 11
- Experience of working in a Fintech/Start Up environment a bonus
- Experience of Mortgages
