E-learning Web Developer

We are looking for an E-learning Web Developer to join our client's team in Sellafield.

The Web-based Training/Computer-Based Training (WBT/CBT) Training Developer analyses, designs and develops appropriate training solutions which are delivered via web or computer-based technology to improve the skills and knowledge of employees. They can also develop training for classroom, laboratory and on-the-job training (OJT), but their primary role is WBT/CBT.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis, design and development of training and assessment materials. The primary role will be the development of WBT/CBT but can also develop classroom and on the-job (OJT) training, etc.
  • Determine if training is needed or not (training needs analysis).
  • Carry out Job/Task/Analysis (JTA) process and tools.
  • Determine the most cost-effective training method (eg, WBT/CBT, classroom, laboratory, OJT).
  • Implement sound instructional design and development techniques, using analysis results.
  • Develops applicable and meaningful objectives that identify the knowledge and skills that are needed by the trainee.
  • Develop training material that supports the objectives and is developed to support.
  • multiple learning styles.
  • Determine the best training and student evaluation methodology for the training need.
  • (ie, required reading versus classroom versus OJT versus computer-based training).
  • Identify the driver for the training requirement.
  • Perform training program self-assessments within the directorate and define proposed.
  • corrective actions for identified issues.
  • Determines the level of WBT/CBT that is needed for the particular training solution.
  • Develops high quality, effective and efficient training solutions using a standardised suite of web/computer based training development software and other equipment (software may include but not limited to; Captivate, Smartbuilder, Camtasia and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite)
  • Testing of web-based training products to ensure they are fit for purpose and function as expected.

Knowledge & Experience

  • The successful candidate will have a solid background in one or more of the following:
  • Adobe Creative Cloud application suite, Captivate, Smartbuilder, Sound and Video editing skills.
  • Additionally, an understanding of the training processes used at Sellafield would help contextualise the work of the web developer team.

Essential Skills

  • Solid IT skills in MS Office Suite.
  • An understanding of SL training procedures, policies and the application of these.
  • An understanding of how Sellafield develops training solutions.
  • Practical skills in one or more web-authoring tools/audio-visual production/learning management systems.
  • Ability to facilitate groups of individuals including Subject Matter Experts (SME).
  • Ability to work to business milestones.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in the following applications which are used in the web based training teams:-
  • Sharepoint
  • Smartbuilder
  • Captivate
  • Camtasia
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Knowledge of IT networks and Server Management

Location: Sellafield

Pay rate: £23.14ph Inside IR35

Duration: 1 year
