Technical Design Authority - IT/Telecoms - (Inside IR35)

My client, a well known global Telecoms operator is currently seeking a Technical Design Authority to join them on an initial 6 month contract with the possibility of extension thereafter.

About the Team

There are 4 portfolios within the programme and each portfolio operates as a mini IT organisation' serving a discrete set of IT stakeholders.

The team will operate in several different methods including Mode 1 (Waterfall) and Mode 2 (Agile & Dev Ops).

Each Portfolio segment will consist of both permanent and managed services resources operating as a multi-skilled team with end to end accountability for delivering all IT change impacting their portfolio segment, and the technical products they own.

The team will work closely with other portfolio segment teams and stakeholders from across Operations and the Business.

Key role accountability/purpose

You will be responsible for the overall technical vitality of the client's Infrastructure and Software domain. You will also be responsible for agreeing E&SS Architectural strategy with EAs.

Revise and own the design and architectural elements of the Keep Safe strategy to maintain the existing platform whilst minimising investment without risking service (known as Tech Debt in the CUK Programme:

Be the Technical interface between the vendor and the client for all aspects of the operational governance and technical vitality of the Vendor managed Companion' estate

Be responsible for managing the Technology Road maps and associated in-flight projects

Obtain and agree architectural governance from the EAs and approval of any change into service

Lead the Technical assurance board and governance of all changes into service

Be the primary focal point for both the vendor and client's Service Delivery teams to ensure that all projects were fully interlocked throughout project life cycle and did not risk service stability

Provide technical leadership during production incidents.

Devise and Agree role and responsibilities with Portfolio CIO

Responsible for the technical assurance processes that ensured the technical completeness of all aspects of migrations.

Approver for cutover rehearsal plans.

Tools and Technologies

Infrastructure Architecture (with key skills in IBM pSeries)

Databases: Oracle/DB2

Messaging (JMS, MQ, Java)

DC planning & migrations

PowerVM & VMWare
