Description
Our Public Sector Government based client is looking to recruit a C++ Software Engineer on a 6 month contract.
You will join a team of experts and contribute towards the technical development and optimisation of a unified, next-generation observation processing (NG-OPS) system that will take full advantage of the next generation HPC. Contributions to the design and development of the JEDI code base could for example in include the extension of current class definitions to improve flexibility, usability, and data exchange mechanism between different components of the data processing pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Design and Development skills
- C++ software development
- Working with templated C++ code bases
- Object-oriented design, algorithms and data structures
- Experience of professional collaborative software development processes such as agile development, code review, version control, testing methods
Past experience of scientific software or systems would be highly desirable but not essential.
Under the current situation the role is still remote based but may require some occasional site visits in the future
Preference will also be given to candidates who hold SC Security Clearance however those eligible to apply will be considered. You will need to obtain BPSS Clearance prior to starting which takes 2-4 weeks and also have submitted a SC Clearance Application.
Day Rate: £492.73 per day INSIDE IR35 via a umbrella company.
