Description

The essence of this Solution Architect role is to shape the development and implementation of Core products. The specific responsibility concentrates on the designing the integration of our core products (Apple & Samsung watches, Alexa Calling and secondary physical & eSIM) into new markets.

In addition, the Core Solution Architect will contribute the design, development and integration of our more efficient and scalable microservices platform.

Duties of the Solution Architect:

  • Design solutions to meet the business and user experience requirements set by the Product Owner; translate the Product Owner's desired business benefits into the technical architecture
  • Lead development, make architectural and implementation decisions, in a distributed team
  • Write the High Level Design specification that is the input for the offshore development and operations teams
  • Collaborate with the OpCo's technical teams to understand the integration requirements and develop deep knowledge and understanding of the OpCo's IT and NW environments
  • Build scalable and cost-conscious solutions
  • Identify and document any risks to the solution. Classify the likelihood, impact and severity of the identified risks and calculate the risk contingencies
  • Identify and document possible risk mitigations
  • Ensure the value and credibility of the solution is accurately articulated in support materials
  • Ensure solutions are deliverable in timeframes committed. They should be scalable, repeatable and utilise existing standard services as much as possible
  • Technical SPOC for internal and external 3rd parties and suppliers

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in Telecommunications, Infrastructure or Applications Development highly desirable
  • Strong experience in developing Java solutions ideally within the telco sector
  • Experience in API and software architecture
  • Deep knowledge of web-based and service based architectures (REST/SOAP)
  • Experience in Agile development/SCRUM and continuous delivery processes.
