Data Scientist - Python/SQL/Agile
Top UK Retailer is looking for a Data Scientist to join them in a contract position, based in Berkshire and remote.
Main Criteria:
Building recommendation systems experience
Build production in Python
SQL coding (doesn't have to be an expert)
Agile working
Candidate Description
This is a senior role for an experienced Data Scientist that can demonstrate significant experience in planning and building Data Science systems for commercial use to production level. You must have production level python coding skills and SQL coding experience.
We expect an experienced Data Scientist to have a mix of statistics, programming and machine learning skills and a scientific mentality with the ability to ask the right questions and generate simple, practical solutions to problems. A strong numerical degree in a mathematical, scientific, engineering or computer science discipline is expected, as well as a solid understanding of mathematics and statistical principles.
Understanding and experience of planning and building recommendation engines is a significant advantage, as is working in Azure and Azure Databricks in particular. Some experience of A-B testing and understanding of the statistical principles of experimental design is advantageous.
